Match your visit to the convention hall

Pinball Expo’s wider 2026 schedule spans more than the public convention-hall dates. Our connected edition covers October 15–17 at Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. The organizer’s admission page says the hall is closed for setup on Wednesday, October 14, when a separate welcome activity takes place at Enterrium. On Sunday, October 18, the hall is closed for teardown while tournament finals appear on the program. Choose the area you actually intend to attend before booking travel or treating the headline date range as hall access.

Read the pass and activity separately

Start with the official admission options, then look at any tournament, tour, seminar or other activity that interests you. Find out whether it requires another booking, has limited space or operates at a different location. A general admission purchase is not evidence that every associated activity is included. Keep the confirmation for your chosen day and the current schedule together. If you are planning around one must-do experience, establish its admission conditions first and build the rest of your visit around that confirmed arrangement.

Choose a realistic amount of playing time

Before arrival, decide whether your priority is trying machines, speaking with exhibitors, learning about the hobby or watching competitive play. Those can produce very different days. Make a short list, but leave room to encounter a game you have never tried. A queue is a useful moment to read instructions or watch how a machine works, rather than a reason to crowd the person playing. Ask before touching equipment that is being demonstrated or serviced, and follow any posted guidance from the owner or event staff.

Let the schedule guide your pace

The organizer distinguishes registration, convention-hall access and other program times. Check the latest schedule for your day so that an early registration opening does not become an assumption that the show floor is already open. Build in time for food, a quiet break and the trip home. If you are attending with people who want different activities, agree on a meeting point and a check-in time. There is no requirement to stay for every available hour to have a worthwhile visit.

Explore the hobby before a purchase

If an exhibit starts you thinking about owning a machine, separate the fun of playing from the practical decision. Ask a seller about the specific machine’s condition, what is included, transport and the terms of the transaction. Take notes you can compare later, with permission for photographs where appropriate. Discuss the space and practical arrangements you would need at home before committing. This guide does not recommend a particular seller or machine; the useful outcome of a first visit can simply be learning which questions matter to you.

Confirm the edition before leaving

Revisit the organizer’s admission page and schedule for current availability, any changes and the exact destination of each booked activity. Check the event’s bag and access arrangements rather than borrowing rules from another convention at the hotel. The listing below preserves the full October 15–17 public hall run even when a search matches only one day. Keep your ticket details available offline and leave time to arrive comfortably. A focused plan makes room for the best part of a hobby convention: discovering what you want to try next.
